Le Club X
On January 9th, we visited L’Ecole Polytechnique. We spent the first part of the day attending an English class and exploring the museum on the school grounds. We headed back to Paris for a short tour of the sites, including a quick visit to the Panthéon, and a stroll along the banks of the Seine at night, before we finished our journey at “Le Club X.”
Le Club X is the club for Polytechniciens only. We were led into a very nice room with a long table, where there were multiple forks and knives, all in good silver, along with glasses set up for us. Our wine was poured by a server, who announced each dish as it was brought out. Mushroom soup, an amazing entrée of salmon, and a fantastic dessert of the orange tart—a “plain” French dinner, wouldn’t you say?
So if you have any friends at Polytechnique, get them to take you to le Club X. You will not regret it.
