This famous chateau, constructed by Louis IV (the Sun King) is located about 40 minutes away from the center of Paris. This royal palace has for the most part been restored to its former grandeur, with beautiful ornate furniture and breathtaking wall paintings. Our guide gave us very interesting information on the lives of the kings, their wives (and mistresses!) that lived there. We saw beautiful art belonging to the the Baroque/Rococo periods and their transition into the neoclassicism period.
