The Association of Biomolecular Resource Facilities
You may want to visit the Association of Biomolecular Resource Facilities (ABRF) web site.
The ABRF has a very useful web based discussion forum which includes a search engine that can be used to find archived correspondence concerning problems or questions relating to any of the services that are offered at the MIT Biopolymers Lab.
The archives contain informal email communications between ABRF members on such topics as recommended protocols, publication references, candid opinions on manufacturers instrument systems, etc. For instance, if you are interested in labeling a synthetic peptide with fluorescein, do a keyword search on "fluorescein". The comments come from chemistry novices as well as Nobel Prize winners, so caveat emptor.
