H. The Function of the Midget and Parasol Channels in Vision
Flicker
perception was studied using light emitting diodes (LEDs) laid out as
shown in Figure 37. On each trial
one of the LEDs was set to begin flickering after the monkey fixated the
central LED. The rate of the flicker was varied. Parvo lesions produced
no deficits on this task even when red/green flicker was used instead
of ON/OFF flicker. The magno lesion produced a major deficit.
