Project Abstract:

Wireless sensor networks and computational grids are among the most promising technologies of the future. This project is a step towards combining these two areas to make the best of both worlds. Abstracting sensor networks and enabling them as grid resources facilitates on-the-fly real-time processing of sensor data, a task which has been traditionally done offline. As an additional benefit, it presents an industry standards based (OGSI) interface to work with sensors, successfully hiding the vendor specific interfaces below. We are developing an extensible modular architecture and a prototype implementation of the sensor grid testbed.
