Kathryn Bock received her Ph.D. from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) in 1975 and was a Sloan Fellow at the University of Pennsylvania in 1982-83. After teaching at Oregon , Cornell, MIT, and Michigan State, she returned to the cornfields of downstate Illinois in 1991, where she is a Professor in the Department of Psychology and the Beckman Institute at UIUC. Her research is on the psycholinguistics of language production.
