Dissonance is Broken
Weythran had noticed that Dunyazade had a particular scarring of
Broken damage in a way that was reminiscent of the plant-demon.
Further experimentation with seeing Broken, seeing through Weythran's
eyes, and True Drawing finally settle upon the Broken scars having
been due to Dunyazade learning Dispel Yellow (a purple spell) and
Dispel Purple (a yellow spell); learning the former causes a loss of
yellow skill, and learning the latter causes a loss of purple. Robert
Dart, who shifted from Purple to Orange before learning Rainbow, also
shows similar scarring.
Casting dispels is not broken, only the process of
learning dispels.
